HAPPY BIRTHDAY SIS!

So my Sis pointed out something pretty cool: This is the only time we will actually celebrate our birthday on two different days. The timeline does crazy things!

So my birthday was really fun. Nothing better than doing the Lord's work for those who know not God ^^ Also, Sister Jenkins had the genius idea to build a blanket fort in the front room. I guess I've been complaining about missing camping too much haha. It was tons of fun though ^^ We kinda had a shortage of blankets, but it worked out alright.

Then today for Pday we went to try and find this cool hike..... never found it, but we did find a really nice Chinese lady that lives with her Chamorro husband in the middle of nowhere! Thanks, God, for guiding us there! Then we went to this abandoned mall called La Fiesta and looked around. It's so crazy! Mel and Maddy, I feel like you would've loved exploring there! It's sad to see it all go to waste though. I heard a rumor that Best Sunshine wants  to buy it up (they are the crazy Chinese company that is building the casino AKA the great and spacious building here on Saipan. I'll have to get a good picture of it sometime for you all.)

The only real damper on my birthday was that Tianbao went back to China today. I don't remember how much I talked about it last week.. So I'll just give you the summary. So Tianbao's house got broken in to while he was at church last week. They stole 3000$ and his friends 3 passports (which he was holding cuz he lent them some money). So he had nothing left. He tried working with the cops, but there wasn't a whole lot they could do. I guess robberies are too common here. He got desperate and ended up deciding to go back to China, because life there would be better than here. We didn't even get to say goodbye face to face.... But hopefully we sent him off with enough info he can still go to church. You can only go to the church in China if you are already a member. Luckily we have his home address, so we will transfer his records there so he can go to church. He has our email addresses too, but we didn't get his =/ Gonna try to connect with him after the mission, make sure he is doing alright.

This past week we had a surprise Zone Conference with President and Sister Poston. Normally we get a day- a weeks notice so we can prepare training..... Elder Ieru called us at 6:33am to tell us he just got a message from President saying he was at the Guam Airport. Whoops. We hurried and prepared some training and got stuff ready. It was a crazy Thursday!! It worked out well in the end though, haha.

Our A/C is broken in our car right now. The church flew in a mechanic from Guam last week to work on all the cars, but he wasn't able to fix it. So we'll be driving with the windows down for the next month until he comes back. It's ok: I like driving with the windows down anyway =)

I can't think of anything else really..... Oh! We did this really cool service project with Ambi. She has a super adorable daughter named MiaoMiao! Only one cuter is Kalli =p So adorable. We cleaned up Ambi's yard. And we cut down Betelnut trees! It was awesome!

That's all for this week! Love you all so much! I hope you have an excellent 24th of July, and excellent week. Stay safe, have fun, and don't forget to pray every day to thank Heavenly Father for the many, many, MANY, blessings we all receive every day from Him.

Lots of love!

Crazy Week

Hey family and friends!!

This week has been so crazy!
Just to sum it up:

Come unto Christ, ye heaven laden. I promise this is the only true rest you will ever find. It's not found in alcohol, drugs, money, material things. None of those things last. If you want lasting rest and peace, turn to Christ. Find rest to your souls there.

This week has been a trial of faith. Luckily that's what I was studying, haha. It seemed like one thing after another happened.... It's ok though. Trials have this way of bringing to your knees, and thus bringing you closer to your Heavenly Father, if you let it. I'm learning that when things go wrong, Satan really tries to work on you to get frustrated and take that frustration out the ones you love. Don't let him. It never, ever, EVER helps.

I've seen families in pieces, lives in danger (spiritual and temporal), people I care about brought to their knees in hopelessness. But there is always a way out, and up out of the darkness. Like I said earlier: Come unto Christ. Why is that so hard for us sometimes? Satan just makes us doubt His ability to rescue us? I don't know. I do know that the answers are in the Book of Mormon and on your knees in prayer.

This weekend was hard. But Sister Jenkins pointed out last night, as it says in Battle Hymn of the Republic, "Our God still marches on". No matter what you are facing right now, remember God still, and always will, march on. Stay on His side, and don't give up.

I love you all so much! Have a super great!

PS: Repentance is real, and it is a very good thing. Satan tries to scare us away from it, but there is no feeling like being clean. Allow Jesus Christ's Atonement to work in your life. He already suffered for your pain and your sorrows. Why allow it to "wrack [your] soul with torment" any longer?

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, BRO!!

Hello everybody!

Shout out to my little Brother, who turns 15 on July 13th. Happy birthday buddy!!

I only have a few minutes left, so I'll have to keep it kinda short.

Didn't go to Guam on Tuesday because President Zarbock had a bad feeling about it. Spirit is so cool =) we ended up skyping to join.

Went to MLC this weekend and met President and Sister Poston. They are so cool!! They are very different from President and Sister Zarbock. But they will also do great things for this mission! Also, found a pair of President Zarbock's famous glasses at the house. Cool ^^ And.... Sister Jenkins last MLC T-T

Sister Conner took pictures of me and Sister Jenkins proselyting. Thought you might enjoy that =)

Ambi's daughter Helen is super cute, She reminds me of Kalli. So hard not to hold her!! Haha. Fun though =)

Pray for Yingdi and her family. Her dad is in the hospital back in China, and might not make it.

Love you all, thank you for your prayers!! MGM mission is the BEST!!!!!

Crazy week coming up

Hey all! This week has been a good week! I don't have a lot of time, but I'll take a minute to tell you about some of our investigators.

We are working with Yingdi and her family (Yingdi is on date for July 15th), Ambi and her husband Maning (Ambi is on date for July 22) and Wu Huan Qi (Is on date for August 19th) Those are probably the best investigators. I LOVE teaching the families... They are my favorite people <3

Something I would call a miracle happened this week, on Walking Wednesday.
So two weeks ago, we tracted this apartment in Garapan. No one was super interested, we thought, but gave away a few Lesson 2 Pamphlets (about the Plan of Salvation. We've found it's better to start with that lesson with the Chinese). One guy did tell us we could come back, as long as it was before 4PM. We didn't get to go back until Wednesday. He welcomed us in, and through his broken English, our broken Chinese, and a little Google Translate, he told us the following: He and his family were going back to China that night at 11pm. They had come here to Saipan for the birth of their second daughter, Sapphire, so she could be American. He wants to learn more about Jesus Christ, but even more than that, he wants his daughters to learn. He wants them to learn and grow up following Jesus Christ and one day go to school in America. We gave him a Book of Mormon, our emails, and asked for his info so missionaries in China could contact him. He proceeded to literally draw a map of China. He said he lives an hour south of Beijing. He gave us his families names, his address, his phone number, and his email address. He also wanted a picture of us with his newborn daughter. He said, "I'm going to show her this picture and tell her about you one day." The Spirit was soooo strong!!! It was one of the best experiences on my mission by far. I remembered what Brother Conner said: "Chinese people will come here and you will teach them, then they will go back to China and bring the Gospel to their families and friends". So cool!!!

That's all I really have time for this week. Tomorrow we go to Guam for President's last Zone Conference (He is skyping it to the whole mission, but Saipan is close enough to Guam he is flying all the missionaries in). Then me and Sister Jenkins go back to Guam Saturday-Monday for MLC. Lots of traveling for us this week.

Love and miss you all! Stay safe, have fun, and always watch for the miracles God blesses you with every day. I promise you they are there.
