We
are working with Yingdi and her family (Yingdi is on date for July
15th), Ambi and her husband Maning (Ambi is on date for July 22) and Wu
Huan Qi (Is on date for August 19th) Those are probably the best
investigators. I LOVE teaching the families... They are my favorite
people <3
Something I would call a miracle happened this week, on Walking Wednesday.
So
two weeks ago, we tracted this apartment in Garapan. No one was super
interested, we thought, but gave away a few Lesson 2 Pamphlets (about
the Plan of Salvation. We've found it's better to start with that lesson
with the Chinese). One guy did tell us we could come back, as long as
it was before 4PM. We didn't get to go back until Wednesday. He welcomed
us in, and through his broken English, our broken Chinese, and a little
Google Translate, he told us the following: He and his family were
going back to China that night at 11pm. They had come here to Saipan for
the birth of their second daughter, Sapphire, so she could be American.
He wants to learn more about Jesus Christ, but even more than that, he
wants his daughters to learn. He wants them to learn and grow up
following Jesus Christ and one day go to school in America. We gave him a
Book of Mormon, our emails, and asked for his info so missionaries in
China could contact him. He proceeded to literally draw a map of China.
He said he lives an hour south of Beijing. He gave us his families
names, his address, his phone number, and his email address. He also
wanted a picture of us with his newborn daughter. He said, "I'm going to
show her this picture and tell her about you one day." The Spirit was
soooo strong!!! It was one of the best experiences on my mission by far.
I remembered what Brother Conner said: "Chinese people will come here
and you will teach them, then they will go back to China and bring the
Gospel to their families and friends". So cool!!!
That's
all I really have time for this week. Tomorrow we go to Guam for
President's last Zone Conference (He is skyping it to the whole mission,
but Saipan is close enough to Guam he is flying all the missionaries
in). Then me and Sister Jenkins go back to Guam Saturday-Monday for MLC.
Lots of traveling for us this week.
Love and
miss you all! Stay safe, have fun, and always watch for the miracles God
blesses you with every day. I promise you they are there.
